Egg allergy is the second most common allergic (0.5- 2.5%) in infants and children who have a history of skin allergies, after cow's milk. Allergic eggs occur due to immune reactions triggered by proteins in egg whites.

In children with egg allergies, the body's immune system produces excessive amounts of antibodies and attacks the egg protein. This reaction can occur quickly in just minutes.

Symptoms that often arise in the form of a red rash accompanied by itching throughout the body. Other signs that often arise in the form of nausea, vomiting, coughing, shortness of breath, low blood pressure until unconscious.

If you show any of these symptoms, it is likely that your child has allergies. The right action is to take your child to the doctor immediately for medical attention.

Medical actions that can be done is a blood test and skin cukil test. It can also be done desensitization method that aims to see the child's tolerance of egg allergens.

If the child is confirmed positive for an egg allergy, always make sure that your child does not eat eggs. Likewise with processed food products containing eggs on the daily menu.

An egg allergy can cause serious symptoms if not treated properly. However, as the child grows older the allergy to eggs can disappear by itself.
